SCA has partnered with the Westberg Institute for Faith Community Nursing to offer you the following great online education opportunities.
By completing the four hour Educational Partner Lead Faculty Course and Update and the four, one-hour supplemental webinars, successful participants will earn the FCN Educator certificate.
Upon completion of the series, participants will:
- Receive the FCN Educator certificate
- Receive the FCN Educator lapel pin
- Be listed as a Westberg affiliated FCN Educator
Educational Partner Lead Faculty Course and Update 2019 Foundations of Faith Community Nursing Curriculum
Based on the 2019 Foundations of Faith Community Nursing course created by the Westberg Institute, this interactive webinar is for new and experienced lead faculty, additional educators affiliated with an educational partner organization and others interested in becoming educators. By completing the webinar, participants will be better prepared to plan, market, conduct, and evaluate their course offerings according to best-practice standards.
Continuing Education: upon completion of the webinar, all activities, and evaluation participants may receive 4.0 contact hours from the Westberg Institute.

Foundations of Faith Community Nursing Educators Course Supplemental Series
Module 1: Professionalism
This interactive module describes professionalism in the nursing context and suggests strategies that educators may use to assist faith community nurses to forge a positive public and professional image of their practice.
Continuing Education: upon completion of the webinar, all activities, and evaluation participants may receive 1.0 contact hours from the Westberg Institute.
Module 2: Marketing and Selection of Participants
Participants completing this interactive webinar will gain insight and knowledge related to the basics of course marketing and how to create a marketing plan. In addition, several aspects of screening and selection of course participants is included.

Module 3: Funding Opportunities
This interactive webinar assists the participant to consider opportunities, barriers and methods to overcome the challenges of funding their course, practice and projects. Emphasis is placed on the fundamentals of grant writing along with other suggestions for seeking funding and budgeting. Henri Nouwen’s classic text: A Spirituality of Fundraising is strongly suggested as a resource.

Module 4: Tips & Techniques for Educators
Tips and techniques included in this webinar focus on faculty interaction with adult learners and various options for self-care. Adult learning theory and strategies for successfully selecting from lecture, discussion, role play, simulation, case studies, gaming, journaling, and technology to apply information to real world experiences is included.
