Fundamentals of Spiritual Care in Palliative Care
This course is for chaplains, nurses, social workers, physicians and others on the interdisciplinary health care team who wish to improve their delivery of spiritual care in health care.
This course strengthens the quality of palliative care by providing a foundation of knowledge and practice built on the applicable areas of the National Consensus Project's Clinical Practice Guidelines for Quality Palliative Care and the National Quality Forum's National Framework and Preferred Practices for Palliative and Hospice Care Quality.
This course teaches how to:
- Become effective administrators of spiritual care programs in palliative care and hospice settings
- Articulate the multiple aspects of palliative care, so as to communicate it clearly as an option to?patients, family members, and friends
- Create and sustain programs that meet both human and institutional needs
This course provides 64 hours of continuing education.
Course prerequisite: Must have computing skills sufficient to complete graduate work online.
